Koichi Takahashi is a Principal Investigator and Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on hematological malignancies, particularly the molecular mechanisms of myeloid neoplasia, leukemia pathogenesis, and clonal evolution. His recent work includes characterizing long-term chemotherapy effects on normal blood cells (Nature Genetics, 2025), evaluating triplet regimens combining hypomethylating agents, venetoclax, and IDH inhibitors for IDH-mutated AML (Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2025), and identifying relapse predictors in Ph+ ALL treated with ponatinib and blinatumomab. He also investigates menin inhibition in MLL-rearranged leukemias and natural killer cell dysfunction in myelodysplastic syndromes.
