Adjunct Research Scientist in the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory
Kerry Key is an Adjunct Research Scientist at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. His research integrates marine geology, tectonics, and hydrogeophysics, employing electromagnetic and magnetotelluric imaging to probe subsurface structures. Recent breakthroughs include mapping buried freshwater reserves beneath salinity-stressed coastal Bangladesh and the New England continental shelf, and constraining fluid migration at subduction zones, such as the Shumagin Gap. His work also addresses induced seismicity in Oklahoma and groundwater circulation in mountain blocks, combining geophysical observations with hydrologic modeling to advance understanding of fluid dynamics in Earth's crust.
