Kenneth Hu is a Senior Professor and Principal Investigator at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on cellular immune responses, cancer immunology, and immunotherapy, with particular emphasis on the spatial organization of intratumoral immune responses and T cell exhaustion. His recent work has identified distinct T cell responses to anti-PD1 and anti-CTLA4 checkpoint therapies, characterized a new cancer-associated fibroblast state via local gene editing, and delineated effector function layers among exhausted CD8 T cells. He has published in The Journal of Experimental Medicine, Science Immunology, and Cell, and his research addresses tumor cell heterogeneity and its impact on immunotherapy outcomes.
