Kathryn Anderson is a Senior Professor at Upstate Medical University. Her research focuses on infectious diseases, epidemiology, and global health, with a particular emphasis on vector-borne diseases, virus epidemiology, and communicable disease surveillance. Her recent work includes developing self-collected, saliva-based immunoassays for scalable epidemiological surveillance of pathogen-specific immunity, investigating antibody responses to Japanese encephalitis and dengue vaccinations, and examining ecological drivers of chikungunya virus transmission in southern Thailand. She has also contributed to studies on long COVID-19 in children in Jamaica and to dengue vaccine policy discussions, including insights from Thai surveillance data on four serotypes. Her research integrates field-based diagnostics, vaccine immunology, and ecological modeling to advance public health responses to emerging viral threats.
