Justin R. Gregg is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in urologic oncology and surgical oncology. His research focuses on prostate cancer detection and progression, particularly the integration of novel biomarkers such as serum Prostate Health Index, urinary PCA3, and TMPRSS2:ERG RNA testing to improve the identification of clinically significant disease. He investigates the influence of metabolic factors—including body composition, adiposity, testosterone levels, and cardiometabolic health—on treatment efficacy and outcomes in localized and metastatic prostate cancer, spanning active surveillance, neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy, and chemotherapy. His recent work explores GLP-1 agonist use in this population. He has received funding for proteomic-based biomarkers of early prostate cancer progression.
