Ju-Seog Lee is a High Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on molecular cancer biology, with particular emphasis on hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric cancer subtypes, and tumor microenvironment-driven drug resistance. Recent breakthroughs include elucidating SIRT6's role in suppressing the AMPK-mTOR-TFEB axis to regulate autophagy in HCC, identifying transcriptomic and genomic biomarkers for sorafenib benefit, and demonstrating that fructose and glucose from sugary drinks enhance colorectal cancer metastasis via SORD. His work also spans biliary tract cancer precision chemotherapy and non-coding RNA RMRP's governance of RAB31-dependent MMP secretion in ovarian cancer invasion.
