John Cort is an Adjunct Faculty member at Washington State University and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1997. His research integrates structural biology, NMR-based metabolomics, and biomolecular engineering, with recent work focusing on dirigent proteins in pea phytoalexin biosynthesis, the Natural Products Magnetic Resonance Database (NP-MRD), and AI-driven post-translational modification research. He has published extensively in journals such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry and Nucleic Acids Research, and received a $945,650 award for investigating dirigent proteins. His international collaborations span institutions across the US, Canada, Germany, the UK, China, France, Spain, South Korea, the Philippines, and Brazil.
