Joseph Ludwig is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on sarcoma oncology, specifically investigating tumor biology, surgical oncology, and malignant disease pathogenesis. Recent work includes a spatially-resolved single-cell atlas of liposarcoma revealing lineage hierarchies and regulatory circuits, analyses of primary intrathoracic and abdominopelvic synovial sarcoma outcomes, and studies on EWS::WT1 isoform-dependent neogene regulation in desmoplastic small round cell tumors. He has also examined androgen receptor roles in these tumors, NF1-associated malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors, and comparative chemotherapy regimens for uterine leiomyosarcoma.
