Joseph Jacob, MD MCR, is an Associate Professor of Urology at Upstate Medical University, where he specializes in genitourinary oncology and cancer genomics. His research focuses on the genomic characterization of urologic malignancies, including bladder, renal, penile, and testicular cancers, with particular emphasis on homologous recombination deficiency signatures and PARP inhibitor responsiveness in bladder adenocarcinoma, MTAP loss in penile squamous cell carcinoma and sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma, and VHL wild-type clear cell renal cell carcinoma. His recent work has identified FANCC as a susceptibility gene for hereditary and sporadic renal tumors, published in The Oncologist. His genomic landscape studies, presented in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, advance precision oncology and targeted therapeutic strategies for refractory genitourinary cancers.
