Jeffrey L. Jorgensen is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on hematological malignancies, specifically leukemia and lymphoid neoplasia, with an emphasis on immunophenotyping, measurable residual disease (MRD) assessment, and the cytogenetic and mutational characterization of atypical chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). His recent work includes studies on mature T-cell leukemia/lymphoma with an NK-like immunophenotype, lineage switch in B-lymphoblastic leukemia under blinatumomab therapy, and the clinical validity of multicolor flow cytometry for MRD detection in acute myeloid leukemia. He has also published on venetoclax consolidation in high-risk CLL and phase II trials of blinatumomab, contributing to advances in targeted therapy and diagnostic precision in hematologic cancers.
