Jorge Moreno is an Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Pomona College. His research focuses on extragalactic astronomy, specifically galaxy formation and evolution, star formation, and high-energy astrophysics. He employs astrophysical simulations and computational methods to investigate galaxy dynamics, including the radial redistribution of stellar orbits in Milky-Way-mass galaxies and the multiphase circumgalactic medium in mergers. His recent publications examine the shape of FIREbox galaxies, the ignition of galaxy formation in the postreionization universe, and the constraints on dark matter profiles from galaxy rotation curves.
