Jonathon L. Baker is an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University, where his research integrates microbiology, microbial genetics, and molecular biology to investigate oral microbial pathogenesis. His recent work focuses on the epigenomics of *Streptococcus mutans*, identifying DNA methylation sources, and characterizing monounsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis as critical for streptococcal envelope homeostasis and stress tolerance. Baker has also explored drug repurposing for glucosyltransferase inhibition to disrupt oral biofilms, the salivary virome during childhood dental caries, and multi-omics profiling of sugar utilization in *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. His publications appear in venues such as *Nature Communications*, *npj Biofilms and Microbiomes*, and *mSphere*, reflecting his contributions to clinical microbiology and applied bacteriology.
