Jonathan R. Brody is a Professor of Surgery, Vice Chair for Research in the School of Medicine, and the Louis Gerlinger, Jr. and Beatrice Lee Gerlinger Surgical Chair at Oregon Health & Science University. His research focuses on pancreatic cancer biology, tumor metabolism, and molecular oncology, with particular emphasis on mRNA 3′UTR lengthening in neuroendocrine carcinoma, KRAS-MEK pathway resistance mechanisms, and HuR inhibition in cancer cachexia. Recent breakthroughs include demonstrating that increased glucose availability sensitizes pancreatic cancer to macrophage-targeting immunotherapies and that wild-type IDH1 inhibition enhances PARP inhibitor sensitivity. He also leads tribally responsive research systems addressing pancreatic cancer disparities in Oregon’s Native American population.
