Jon D. Hennebold is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. His research integrates reproductive biology, endocrinology, and developmental biology, with a focus on primate ovarian physiology, the origins of the ovarian reserve, and the impact of metabolic and hormonal factors on fertility. Recent work includes defining the cell and molecular origins of the primate ovarian reserve (Nature Communications, 2025), characterizing testicular maturation in rhesus macaques (PNAS, 2025), and investigating the effects of Western-style diets and hyperandrogenism on ovarian function. His studies also extend to assisted reproductive outcomes and genome-editing technologies in bovine zygotes.
