John R. Horton is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research integrates molecular biology, biochemistry, and structural biology to elucidate gene expression and epigenetic regulation. He specializes in the structural mechanisms of enzymes and nucleic acid-binding proteins, with recent work focusing on the autoinhibited state of the lymphoid-specific helicase HELLS, the multimeric DNA-binding architecture of transcription factor BCL11A, and the unique non-B DNA recognition by the ICF syndrome protein CDCA7. His publications appear in Nature Communications, Science Advances, and Nucleic Acids Research.
