John Paul Shen

John Paul Shen is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on colorectal cancer biology, tumor evolution, and the molecular mechanisms of peritoneal metastasis. Recent work includes the ASCEND-CRC program for cancer evolution profiling, aspirin use and PI3K mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer, and genomic characterization of appendiceal neoplasms. He has published in Cancer Cell and the Journal of Clinical Oncology, with studies on immunotherapy outcomes in microsatellite stable metastatic disease and the peritoneal immune landscape. His research integrates genomic, transcriptomic, and organoid modeling to advance cancer treatment strategies.
