Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry
John Keilp is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University. His research focuses on the neurocognitive and biological underpinnings of depression and suicide, with particular emphasis on identifying objective, proximal risk factors for suicidal behavior. His recent work examines how impairments in executive function, recognition memory, and feedback valuation, as well as implicit associations with death, predict near-term suicide attempts in high-risk populations, including veterans and youth with a parental history of mood disorder. He has also investigated the acute dissociative effects of ketamine and their relationship to its antidepressant and anti-suicidal properties. His publications appear in journals such as the *Journal of Affective Disorders*, *Scientific Reports*, and *Behaviour Research and Therapy*.
