Jinsong Liu is an Endowed Professor and Fellow at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he leads research in gynecologic oncology and cancer biology. His work focuses on ovarian cancer pathogenesis, tumor biology, and the molecular mechanisms driving gynecologic malignancies. Recent breakthroughs include elucidating ovarian epithelial carcinogenesis, investigating polyploid giant cancer cells (PGCCs) and their embryonic properties, and exploring metastasis beyond the tumor surface. He has led translational clinical trials, including a phase Ib study combining copanlisib and niraparib for recurrent ovarian and endometrial cancer, and a phase 2 trial of pembrolizumab with chemotherapy in advanced ovarian cancer. His research also addresses homologous recombination deficiency and chemotherapy response in neoadjuvant settings, with publications in Cancer Cell, Med, and Gynecologic Oncology.
