Jingyun Yang is a High Senior Professor at Rush University. His research integrates human genetics, genomics, and genetic epidemiology to investigate the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. His recent work has identified brain 5-hydroxymethylcytosine alterations linked to Alzheimer’s neuropathology, characterized the APP regulator RHBDL4 as a protective factor in mouse models, and explored associations between pulse rate complexity and cognitive decline. Additional studies examine amyloid beta binding partners, cortical gray matter proteins in cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and causal links between immune-related genes and mouth ulcers. His interdisciplinary collaborations span genome biology, neuroscience of aging, and neurology, advancing translational insights into age-related brain disorders.
