Jianjun Zhang is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research integrates thoracic oncology, cancer genomics, and immunology, with a focus on lung cancer biology and the tumor microenvironment. Recent work includes evaluating tarlatamab efficacy in extensive-stage small cell lung carcinoma, developing CT-based deep foundation models to predict immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced pneumonitis, and benchmarking DNA foundation models for genomic tasks. He has also investigated gut microbiome pathways predicting immunotherapy response and single-cell spatial transcriptomics platforms. His contributions span high-impact venues including Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, Nature Cancer, and Nature Communications, advancing precision immunotherapy and genomic applications in oncology.
