Jesse W. Young is a Senior Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University. His research integrates comparative biomechanics, evolutionary biology, and neuroscience to investigate primate locomotion and sensorimotor aging. Recent work examines the kinematics of quadrupedal gait in platyrrhines and suspensory locomotion in sloths, alongside ultrastructural analyses of neuropeptide Y synapses in the aging rat inferior colliculus. He has secured major NSF funding, including collaborative grants on leaping performance in primate evolution and ecological influences on locomotor behavior in free-ranging primates.
