Jens Kreth is a Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University. His research focuses on oral microbiology, specifically the ecological dynamics of oral biofilms, polymicrobial interactions, and the virulence of pathobionts such as *Fusobacterium nucleatum*. Recent work includes characterizing the immunostimulatory effects of *Streptococcus sanguinis* membrane vesicles, developing fluorescence in situ hybridization techniques for biofilm biogeography, and exploring the ecological traits of oral corynebacteria. His contributions bridge clinical dentistry and applied microbiology, advancing understanding of inflammophilic microbiome communities and periodontal disease pathogenesis.
