Jennifer M. Lynch is a Senior Professor at Hawaiʻi Pacific University. Her research integrates environmental science, marine biology, and environmental chemistry, focusing on marine pollution, aquatic ecosystems, and marine debris. Her latest work employs advanced analytical techniques, including pyrolysis-GC/MS and differential scanning calorimetry, to identify polymers and additives in plastic pollution. She investigates the impacts of debris on Hawaiian green sea turtles, examining hook-and-line gear prevalence in strandings and immunogenetic responses to fibropapillomatosis. Her recent publications (2024–2025) also address microplastic separation from deep-sea sediment and the rise velocity of polyolefins in natural seawater conditions.
