L. Jeffrey Medeiros is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on the diagnostic pathology of hematological malignancies, particularly the classification and molecular characterization of lymphoid and myeloid neoplasia. Recent work includes defining immunophenotypic changes following menin inhibition in acute myeloid leukemia, characterizing acute leukemias with BCL11B rearrangements via optical genome mapping, and delineating the histopathological spectrum of hematolymphoid neoplasms following CAR-T therapy. His studies also address spatial heterogeneity in mutation profiles across lymphoid neoplasms and high-risk genetic abnormalities in blastic transformation of chronic myeloid leukemia. A leading authority in hematopathology, he has contributed extensively to diagnostic criteria and ancillary testing for T-cell lymphomas and acute erythroid leukemia.
