Associate Research Scientist in the Columbia Astrophysics Laboratory
Jason Curtis is an Associate Research Scientist at the Columbia Astrophysics Laboratory, Columbia University. His research centers on observational stellar astrophysics, focusing on stellar rotation, activity, and evolution in open clusters, as well as exoplanet characterization and high-energy astrophysics. Recent work includes measuring rotation periods in crowded star clusters with TESS, modeling atmospheric mass loss and migration of short-period transiting exoplanets, and identifying a catastrophically disrupted open cluster. His publications span The Astronomical Journal and The Astrophysical Journal, contributing to the THYME exoplanet survey. Curtis integrates computational astrophysics with multi-wavelength observations to probe stellar angular momentum evolution and cluster dynamics.
