Jaclyn Schwartz Kirshenbaum is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. Her research integrates biological psychiatry, adolescent psychology, and behavioral sciences to investigate the neurodevelopmental and digital correlates of youth suicide risk. Her recent work employs smartphone keyboard linguistic analysis and experience sampling to identify real-time suicide-related language among high-risk adolescents, alongside functional neuroimaging studies examining nucleus accumbens threat- and reward-related circuitry in relation to perceived stress and emerging anxiety. She has published in venues including Biological Psychiatry, JAMA Network Open, and the Journal of Affective Disorders, with a focus on childhood suicide risk in emergency department settings and the development of passive digital phenotyping tools for early intervention.
