Isabella C. Glitza Oliva, MD, PhD, MS, is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on cancer immunotherapy, melanoma, and metastasis, with particular emphasis on intratumoral immunotherapies, neoadjuvant treatment regimens, and the management of melanoma brain metastases. Her recent work includes a phase I/II study demonstrating that intratumoral sotigalimab combined with pembrolizumab activates antigen-presenting cells and drives anti-tumor responses in non-injected metastatic lesions, as well as an international expert survey translating circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) into cutaneous melanoma care. She has also contributed to the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) consensus statement on essential biomarkers for immunotherapy protocols. Her clinical research integrates radiation oncology and nodal dissection outcomes, advancing personalized treatment strategies for high-risk and metastatic melanoma patients.
