Igor Jovanovic is a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where he specializes in applied nuclear physics, ultrafast laser science, and advanced radiation detection. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (2001) and a B.S./M.S. from the University of Zagreb (1997). His current research focuses on rare-event searches, such as heavy neutral lepton detection via the MAGNETO-ν experiment, muon tracking in opaque scintillators, and machine learning-enabled pulse shape discrimination. He also investigates ultrafast laser filamentation in aerosol media and the multi-petawatt ZEUS laser system. A Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and Optica, Jovanovic received the DARPA Young Faculty Award and serves as an editor for *Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A* and *Optics Letters*.
