Huamin Wang is an Associate Professor and Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research centers on pancreatic cancer biology, with a focus on KRAS-mutant tumorigenesis, tumor immunology, and the tumor microenvironment. Recent breakthroughs include identifying a RASH3D19-mediated positive feedback loop in KRAS-mutant cancers (Nature Cell Biology, 2025), demonstrating that TREM2 depletion accelerates pancreatic tumor progression via IL-1β+ macrophage enrichment (Gastroenterology, 2025), and developing liquid biopsy approaches for KRAS mutation detection in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. He also pioneered CROCHET, an automated pipeline for single-cell spatialomic analysis (2026). His work has advanced therapeutic strategies targeting the syndecan-1 axis and CD24 "do not eat me" signals to overcome KRAS-targeted therapy resistance.
