Dr. Jian Hu is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where his research focuses on the tumor microenvironment, immunology, and cell biology of gliomas. His recent work has elucidated the role of the RNA-binding protein QKI in lipid homeostasis and gliomagenesis, and he has demonstrated that STING agonists can reprogram the immune microenvironment to improve survival in preclinical glioblastoma models. He has also investigated novel combinatorial immunotherapies, including Fc-enhanced anti-CTLA-4 and anti-PD-1 agents with ultrasound-mediated blood-brain barrier opening. His awards include a 2025 grant for establishing the tissue distribution of a novel PPAR agonist and a 2017 grant on QKI's role in glioma stem cell self-renewal.
