Haoning Tang is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his B.Eng. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2016) and his M.S. (2018) and Ph.D. (2021) from Harvard University. His research focuses on moiré nanophotonics, including twist-angle-dependent band structures in bilayer photonic crystals, nonlinear metasurface chirality control, and adaptive moiré sensors for spectro-polarimetric hyperimaging. He has published in Nature, Nature Photonics, and Physical Review Letters, and received the Rising Star of Light Award in 2024.
