Hanna Gustafsson is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. Her research integrates developmental psychopathology, child psychology, and maternal health to examine how prenatal and early environmental factors shape child behavioral outcomes. Her recent work investigates gestational kynurenine metabolites as mediators of pregnancy adiposity effects on child negative affect, and the association between third-trimester dietary glycemic index and infant temperament. She also studies attachment representations in rural, low-SES African-American children and computational methods for assessing parent emotional sentiment in relation to child ADHD and ODD. Gustafsson contributes to the HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study, advancing rigorous, equitable approaches to measuring caregiver-child interactions and childhood agency in developmental research.
