Hai T. Tran is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where his research focuses on thoracic oncology, lung cancer biology, and cancer immunotherapy. His recent work investigates intratumoral and circulating neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratios as predictive biomarkers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), alongside spatial and cellular immune landscapes associated with neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy responses. He has also explored leptomeningeal metastases from NSCLC, race-associated genomic correlates of immune checkpoint inhibitor outcomes, and small cell lung cancer evolution via deep whole-genome sequencing of circulating tumor DNA. His translational studies include phase I trials combining pan-ErbB inhibitors with mTOR inhibitors in advanced cancers. His research integrates immunology, pharmacology, and radiation oncology to advance cancer treatment strategies.
