Micah B. Hahn is a Senior Professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage. His research integrates medical entomology, epidemiology, and climate change to address public health challenges in Arctic and sub-Arctic environments. His recent work includes developing novel metrics for wildfire smoke exposure to bridge climate adaptation and fire management, assessing social and geographical disparities in adverse birth outcomes in Alaska, and evaluating lightning-caused wildfire risks to power grid infrastructure. He has also investigated the health and economic impacts of Lyme disease in the Eastern and Midwestern United States, and led transdisciplinary syntheses on pandemic preparedness, including studies on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and food access in remote Alaska communities. His research spans infectious disease ecology, environmental health, and public health preparedness.
