Guy Garty is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology in the Center for Radiological Research at the Columbia University Medical Center. His research focuses on radiation biology, radiation exposure, and applied physics, with recent work spanning biological effects of conventional and ultra high dose rate radiation in human cells, predicting neutron radiation exposure from RNA-seq of in vitro human skin models, and nanocarrier-based oral formulations for mitigating hematopoietic acute radiation syndrome. He has also contributed to beam intensity and stability control on a modified clinical linear accelerator for FLASH irradiation, anti-tumor immunization efficacy after particle-radiation exposure, and the Centers for Medical Countermeasures against Radiation Consortium. His latest publications appear in venues including Scientific Reports, Nature Methods, Advanced Functional Materials, and Physics in Medicine and Biology.
