Guo, Charles C

Charles C. Guo is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on urologic oncology, particularly bladder cancer, upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma, and prostate cancer, with emphasis on surgical pathology and cancer treatment. Recent breakthroughs include whole-organ spatial transcriptomic mapping of bladder cancer evolution from field effects, development of the TUSCAN software for tumor segmentation in spatial transcriptomics, and identification of FOXA1 as a sensitive diagnostic marker for prostate cancer and methylthioadenosine phosphorylase deficiency as a poor prognostic indicator in upper urinary tract tumors. His work integrates computational biology with pathology to advance genitourinary cancer diagnostics.
