Gaurav Sahay is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University, specializing in biomedical engineering, nanomedicine, and drug delivery. His research focuses on developing lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for gene delivery, RNA therapeutics, and controlled release systems. Recent breakthroughs include engineering ionizable lipopolymers for pulmonary RNA delivery and gene editing, and identifying mechanisms for efficient hepatic LNP delivery via in vivo endosomal escape assays. His work also explores RNA nanotechnology for regenerative medicine and LNP-based mRNA vaccines. He has published in Nature Biotechnology, Nature Communications, and JACS, with collaborations advancing nanobiotechnology applications in ocular, hepatic, and pancreatic disease contexts.
