Ewa Galaj is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Colgate University. Her research focuses on the neuropharmacology of substance use disorders, particularly the neural mechanisms underlying opioid and psychostimulant addiction. Her recent work investigates heroin-induced neuroadaptations in the insula, nucleus accumbens, and ventral tegmental area, alongside the role of CB1 receptors and ghrelin signaling in reward processing. She has also explored environmental enrichment’s therapeutic potential and novel pharmacological targets, including atypical DAT inhibitors for cocaine addiction and treatments for eating disorders comorbid with substance use. Her findings have appeared in journals such as *Neuropharmacology*, *Psychopharmacology*, and *Translational Psychiatry*.
