Eugenie S. Kleinerman is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on oncology, tumor biology, and immunology, with a specific emphasis on sarcoma, cancer cell biology, and the cardiovascular toxicity of anthracycline chemotherapy. Her latest work investigates biomarkers and preventative interventions for muscle wasting and cardiac dysfunction in adolescents and young adults with cancer, including the role of high sucrose intake in amplifying doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity. She has also explored STAT3 inhibition combined with CD47 blockade to suppress osteosarcoma lung metastasis, and the activation of macrophages and NK cells via β-glucan and CD40 agonists. Her recent publications appear in Scientific Reports, Frontiers in Immunology, and the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer.
