Eric B. Suhler, M.D., M.P.H., is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of the Uveitis Division at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. His research integrates clinical epidemiology with ocular immunology, focusing on uveitis, scleritis, and ocular surface inflammatory disease. Recent work applies interpretable deep learning to OCT for differentiating vitreoretinal lymphoma from uveitis, and evaluates steroid-sparing therapies, including TNF inhibitors versus conventional immunosuppressants. He has also investigated cataract outcomes in ocular cicatricial pemphigoid and cytomegalovirus-associated occlusive vasculopathy, alongside immunopathogenic signatures in HLA-B27-associated anterior uveitis.
