Emily Z. Keung is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on sarcoma oncology, cancer immunotherapy, and the tumor immune microenvironment, with particular emphasis on liposarcoma and leiomyosarcoma. Her recent work includes validating a seven-gene predictive signature for PD-1 inhibitor efficacy in sarcoma patients, constructing a spatially-resolved single-cell atlas of liposarcoma to reveal lineage hierarchies and immune niches, and investigating the impact of dietary fiber on immunotherapy outcomes in melanoma and sarcoma. She also studies surgical outcomes, including vascular management in retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma resection and surveillance strategies for extremity soft tissue sarcoma. Her research integrates surgical oncology, immunology, and pathology to advance precision medicine and improve therapeutic strategies for sarcoma patients.
