Elizabeth J. Shpall is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. A leading authority in hematology and oncology, her research focuses on optimizing allogeneic and haploidentical transplantation, particularly conditioning intensity and donor selection, and on developing novel cellular therapies, including engineered NK cells and CAR-T approaches. Her recent work has defined the role of CREM as a regulatory checkpoint in NK cell signaling and demonstrated the efficacy of bispecific innate cell engagers in refractory lymphoma. She has also pioneered the use of engineered exosomes for targeted siRNA delivery in pancreatic cancer and advanced measurable residual disease-guided strategies in acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her contributions have been published in Nature, Nature Medicine, and Blood Advances, and she leads numerous international collaborations advancing cellular therapy.
