Dr. Amlan Kumar Patra

Dr. Amlan Kumar Patra is a High Senior Professor at Langston University. His research focuses on animal nutrition and physiology, particularly feed additives, feed intake, and their impacts on livestock production, health, and product quality. Recent work investigates sustainable ruminant nutrition, including chicory swards to improve growth performance and fatty acid profiles in lambs, cashew apple utilization as feed, and the effects of Mentha herbs on poultry and livestock. He also researches enteric methane emissions in goats, evaluating mitigation strategies and employing technologies like the GreenFeed system and laser methane detectors to improve measurement accuracy.
