Dipen Maru is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he specializes in gastrointestinal pathology and translational oncology. His research focuses on colorectal and esophageal cancer biology, with particular emphasis on tumor immunology, the tumor microenvironment, and the clinical utility of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for monitoring treatment response. He leads the ASCEND-CRC program, a framework for cancer evolution profiling and interception in colorectal cancer, and has contributed to landmark trials combining perioperative chemotherapy with immunotherapies such as atezolizumab and tiragolumab in localized gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma.
