David Qian is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in thoracic oncology and radiation oncology. His research focuses on optimizing radiation therapy for lung cancer, including the integration of immunotherapy with stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), as well as reirradiation strategies for recurrent disease. He also investigates genetic determinants of comorbid lung diseases through multi-ancestry analyses, causal AI-based radiomic modeling for patient selection, and treatment outcomes for rare malignancies such as primary urethral cancer and primary central nervous system lymphoma. His recent work includes the phase II I-SABR trial secondary analysis and the TIME trial of time-of-day-specified immunotherapy for melanoma.
