David Meier is a High Senior Professor at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. His research focuses on extragalactic and high-energy astrophysics, particularly star formation, galaxy evolution, and high energy density physics. His latest work utilizes JWST to analyze the galactic wind and superwind of the starburst galaxy M82, investigating polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission, molecular hydrogen excitation, and dust processing. He also leads studies of the supernebula in NGC 5253, examining its continuum features and nebular lines. His recent publications appear in The Astrophysical Journal, The Astrophysical Journal Letters, and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
