David H. Ellison, M.D., is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. His research focuses on renal physiology and pathophysiology, particularly the molecular mechanisms of sodium and potassium transport in the distal nephron. His recent work has elucidated the role of kallikrein-1 in cleaving γ-ENaC, the differential assembly of native ENaC complexes across epithelial tissues, and the modulation of the WNK signaling pathway by NRBP1 and TSC22D proteins. He has also investigated how KS-WNK1 augments dietary potassium effects on sodium chloride reabsorption and characterized distinct cell types in the thick ascending limb. His contributions span cell signaling, pharmacology, and urology, with publications in the *Journal of Clinical Investigation*, *Science Advances*, and *JCI Insight*.
