Daniel Bailey is an Assistant Professor at Austin Peay State University. His research centers on second language acquisition, language pedagogy, and educational technology, with a specific focus on the integration of generative AI and machine translation in EFL writing and learning. His recent work includes studies on students' perceptions of generative AI in EFL writing, the application of lexical sophistication models to wordlist development, and the mediating effects of competitiveness in videoconference-based EFL courses. He has also investigated the experiences of educators assisting Afghan refugee youth and conducted multicultural research on translation website adoption among Saudi and South Korean learners.
