Damien Fair is a Professor at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he leads research at the intersection of developmental cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, and biological psychiatry. His work focuses on characterizing brain network development from infancy through adolescence, with particular emphasis on functional connectivity, white matter microstructure, and cortical morphology in neurodevelopmental disorders. Recent publications include a mega-analysis of cortical thickness and curvature in autism and ADHD, a deep learning approach (BIBSNet) for infant brain MRI segmentation, and investigations into maternal depression, early-life adversity, and newborn brain circuitry. Fair has also contributed foundational methods for affective instability metrics and demonstrated novel relationships between task-evoked functional connectivity and executive function, appearing in venues including PNAS and Psychological Medicine.
