Dai Chihara is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on lymphoid neoplasia, hematological malignancies, and immunotherapy, with a particular emphasis on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy outcomes in large B-cell lymphoma. His recent work investigates toxicity mechanisms, including persistent clonal CAR+ T-cells driving immune effector cell enteritis/colitis, and predictors of treatment response such as baseline physical function. He has also developed patient-derived xenograft repositories capturing clinical and molecular heterogeneity of large B-cell lymphoma and studies consolidation strategies, including loncastuximab tesirine and autologous stem cell transplant following CAR-T relapse. His research integrates pathology, cancer biology, and clinical trial access to advance therapeutic approaches for relapsed/refractory lymphomas.
